چکیده
This paper addresses the usefulness of leading edge serrations for reducing aerofoil self-noise over a wide range angles attack. Different serration geometries are studied Reynolds number [Formula: see text]. Design guidelines proposed that permit noise reductions most It is shown reduces but adversely effect aerodynamic performance suggesting trade-off should be sought between these two considerations. The has been to fall into three angle attack (AoA) regimes: low where flow mostly attached, moderate partially fully separated, and high separated. Leading have demonstrated effective in at ineffective angles. reduction mechanisms explored each regimes.

Performance and mechanism of sinusoidal leading edge serrations for the reduction of turbulence-aerofoil interaction noise
This paper presents the results of a detailed experimental investigation into the effectiveness of sinusoidal leading edge serrations on aerofoils for the reduction of the noise generated by the interaction with turbulent flow. A detailed parametric study is performed to investigate the sensitivity of the noise reductions to the serration amplitude and wavelength. The study is primarily perform...

the current study aimed at investigating the relationship between motivation and test preparation strategies (tpss) used by iranian pre-university students in their preparation period for the university entrance exam (uee). due to the importance of uee in iran, this study also attempted to show its impact on these two important variables. to this end, 100 pre-university students in an iranian p...
Turbulence Modelling of Deep Dynamic Stall at Low Reynolds Number
The unsteady separated turbulent flow around an oscillating airfoil pitching in a sinusoidal pattern in the regime of low Reynolds number is investigated numerically employing the URANS approach with two advanced turbulence models, namely the RNG kmode and Transition SST model, and the DES approach based on the SST kmodel. A comparison with experimental data shows that the SST kbased D...
متن کاملEffect of Amplitude and Mean Angle of Attack on the Unsteady Surface Pressure of a Pitching Airfoil
Details of pressure distributions, on a two dimensional airfoil oscillating in pitch through stall, in a 0.8 0.8 m low-speed wind tunnel are presented. Pitching occurred about the airfoils quarter-chord axis. Pitch rate, Reynolds number, and oscillation amplitudes were varied to determine the effects on pressure and lift distributions. It was found that mean angle of attack and pitching amplitu...

The longitudinal aerodynamics of micro aerial vehicles, although not fully understood, have been the subject of several studies in recent years; however, littleworkhasbeendone to investigate the lateral loading. In this experiment, flat-plate wings with rectangular planforms of aspect ratios AR 0.75, 1, 1.5, and 3 and tapered planforms of λ 0.75, 0.5, and 0.25 were placed in the wind tunnel at ...
